Because they're Irish and you're English.

Hi Johnnio

The UK could still have Jedward represent them - it's the writer of the song who needs to be from the UK, not the act singing it.

Last time UK won - Katrina and The Waves - American.

Olivia Newton John (Australian i think) represented us in the 70s.

Cheers

Why would we want to win? It costs a fortune to stage. Far more entertaining to send a no-hoper over to whereever it is then sit back, relax and enjoy the international hilarity.

True, and Celine Dion sang for Switzerland too, but much more likely for Ireland to have them, America, Canada and australia don't qualify for Eurovision, so maybe that's why. It would be interesting to see as there's been a lot worse acts in Eurovision and this lot are already very popular.

Yes I would rather come last every year than win it. The less respect we give the contest the better. Best to treat it as the farce that it is and send joke acts on. Something like Jedward would fit the bill

I'm over my disappointment now........Josh sings the song very well.

I just thought Alexis might have got us some votes just for being so cute.

Hi Jimbob,

I'm with you there - it is awful though, like James Blunt, so will probably do well. I've taken 22s this evening. I think it will be single figures come Saturday, it's nailed on for top 4 / each way money at worst i reckon.

Also, a small each way on Greece, at 33s.

Havent had time to do my usual trawl of the internet, just back from holiday last night, so not heard anything, my 2 picks are based solely on the semi final.

Only heard the British entry this evening for the first time - it's not our best effort in recent years, thats for sure....

Cheers

The Belgian entry is awful but there have been worse winners I would say. I also only got the time a couple of days ago to hear some of the songs and still haven't heard all of them yet but at 33's I was willing to take a chance. Best priced 20's now
