Boherna Best It isnt a question, its my tip for the up and coming Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park next month. BB has been off course for a while, due to a problem with corns, or his pads ( Unsure which ) anyhow, he is fighting fit again and being aimed at the Shelbourne feature. Due to the fact he is returning from injury, I expected him to be good value and I havent been disapointed. Victor Chandler go 50/1  which is the best price. 1/4 the odds 1,2,3 4 seems great value even at 33/1 let alone 50s. My reasoning for that is as follows, in the English equivelant Boherna Best was eliminated after getting bumped, two of the dogs infront of him went on to reach the final, Ballymac Ruso was favourite for the final with the consistent Farloe Reason being the other dog. In the Wimbledon final Ballymac Ruso was bumped out of it, the only other race he has lost since was at Hove ( where he is fav for this weeks Sussex cup ) His victor at Hove was Thurlsbeg Joker, stablemate of Boherna Best. The trainer, B Draper thinks Boherna is the better dog. Thats good enough for me, but the icing on the cake is Boherna won on of the early heats in a quicker time than the final.

It wont be easy as Ballymac Ruso, College Causeway, Shelbourne Ashton, Bandicot Topoki, Wise Thought and Fatboyz Nodrog all look set to take part. Fatboyz was Machs tip for Wimbledon and run well for a long way, he is a best priced 20/1 for Shelbourne and a much improved dog this year.

Selection Irish Greyhound Derby Outright.

Boherna Best 3 points E/w 50/1 with Victor Chandler

Running total -26.91 points

Update...... It isnt good news, Boherna Best was withdrawn yesterday, before the first lot of heats last night He was found to have a kidney infection. So we have a six point loss before the competition has started.

Running total is now -32.91 points.
