[/b]Was there any need for that yesterday   Englands captain Paul Collingwoods decision to have Graham Elliott run out after colliding with bowler Ryan Sidebottom.
It for me spoiled a exciting game and for the first time ,i wasnt sure who i wanted to win ,in the end it was the correct result ,but i could understand why the New Zealand team wouldnt shake hands with Collingwood at the end.In hindsight i think Paul would have made a different decision
ps funny story ,the match had me in a real sweat in more ways than one,I was in the gym next to Aintree Racecourse on the treadmill when i noticed the controversial run out ,very interested ,i decided to get near to see how it all was going to end ,so went on the exercise bikes underneath the screen,the only problem was ,the headphones for the commentry will only work when peddling ,so i had to stay on it ,it went on and on till the last ball ,with all the field changes ,i must have ended up on it for 30mins,  the result cost me a few pounds ,no i didnt have a bet on it ,I meant in WEIGHT!!!!!

As a cricket umpire I thought that the umpires could have reacted more quickly by calling Dead Ball at the moment of impact, his reason? sorry I thought that one of them was hurt. This takes it out of the captain's hands and you end up with a correct and unbiased decision accepted within the "Spirit of the Game"
