england will win imo so looking at next weeks final test would you keep the same 11??? depending on the state of the naiper wicket of course.cheers archie. |
Yes I think you have to keep the same 11.
Firstly it's a vote of confidence for the team most of whom made a significant contribution in this match and secondly no-one on the sidelines seems to be doing anything to force their way into the side.
Unchanged = odds-on!

I listerned to TSM via the TV for awhile last night until England got their first wicket of the day. Until then I was having a funny feeling that N.Z. might just pull off a shock win with two fairly decent batsmen still in! (Yes it was mad to think that but I've followed English cricket long enough to know that they can make hard work of things! ).
Once we got that wicket I felt abit better!
Overall it was a good performance & in fact England could of wrapped it up sooner had they held some catches! I'm glad having been picked Anderson & Broad proved their worth! Who would they of turned too if they hadn't?
Roll on Friday & the 3rd Test. Wonder what the betting will be?
Of course the two team meet again we N.Z. tour here in May!
As a footnote the TV caption was giving the Tour details as of yesterday & it had up that England won the 2nd Test by 100 runs....only problems was they were still playing! |

General prices seem as .....:-
Draw - Evens
England - 7/4
NZ - 3/1

weather wise looks pretty poor
friday-showers (afternoon)
saturday-scattered showers
sunday-cloudy
monday-partly cloudy
tuesday-partly cloudy
looking at the test match stats for this ground and intresting reading in that only 5 tests have been played at Maclean park with just the one victory and 4 being drawn,on further research i found this venue is mainly used for one day cricket with the square dimensions being close to the boudary that suit attacking batsman, the wicket is normally a bat first wicket has it slows up throughtout the days so captains like to set targets also just read what the groundsman has to say and he says the wicket would suit the batters more than the bowlers.cheers archie. |

hard pitch with good grass cover
there will be a little bit in it at the start of the test for the bowlers but it will flatten out and be good for batting
groundsman speaking about the Mclean park wicket
draw anyone???
cheers archie. |

hello RightJudgeIam
aye i agree a draw looks tempting
i dont use betfair to punt but i think im slowly getting to understand how it works so im going to suggest something which may happen
wait until you see who wins the toss back them and when they build a huge total on the 1st day then lay it off and back the draw
does that make sense??? has i say im not 100% sure how betfair works but on second thoughts with the weathermen predicating the weather to being cloudy maybe the swing bowlers could get the ball to move around.cheers archie. |

it's always tricky to work out how the market is going to move...
say you were to back England batting first at 2.75 and they lost 2 or 3 quick wickets then they would surely drift...I would suggest a lay of the team batting second would be safer...
in those circumstances you would have both the team batting first and the draw (in case of rain) running for you _________________ RJI |

just looked at oddschecker and every bookmaker has the draw priced up has odds on
i read moores giving the top order hes full backing to score plenty of runs
fair enough i guess has its the last test but any more failures then lets hope the managment are ruthless on there return before the next series kicks off and that includes pieterson, dont deliever, dropped
awaywardlad may i ask what price was the series to be drawn???
cheers archie. |

anyone watch the first day action ???
i didnt get to see or hear any of the action but reading from the experts more a case of england batsman throwing there wicket away rather than top quality new zealand bowling
lets hope the tail end can show the batters hows it done and can hang around for a few overs and get england well over the 300 mark
the draw pushed out to best 15-8,is i mad to suggest that this game will still end has a draw
i cant see new zealand batting has bad has england but i fancy it will take them up till 2 full days to overtake and build a decent first innings lead and then its up to englands batters to show some fight and bat out the draw well who knows with england
archie keeping the faith
strause
cheers archie. |

funny old test match this is turning out to be
both teams have admitted its a perfect batting pitch yet 15 wickets lost on the 2nd day
ive no idea which way this test will end up if england collaspe this test could be over in four days, maybe its time for strause to step forward and hit a big score which will probably give the young fella a starting place for the summer tests cheers archibald. |

england have a lead of over 500
i wonder when vaughie will call a declarection???
maybe carry on batting in 2morrows morning session and give strause hes double century and then let the bowlers off the leash
the experts are saying its a glorious batting wicket so expert new zealand to bat well this time and hope the england fielders take there chances when they come along
the draw price has follows from day one best prices
5-4
15-8
10-1
7-1 current
maybe if a couple of new zealand batsmen get set they still could snatch a draw.cheers archie. |
