I'll wait until the weights come out but I like the look of Mr Strachan for this.

Nothing stands out to me except the possibility of a JP gamble on either Marhiba Millions or Line Ball.

Regards.

If this horse doesn't get placed I can see Matthew Green pulling his horse out of Johnsons yard.....I get the feeling JHJ is treating his co-owner as a 2nd class patron.

shoe in material for a race like this or Johnson will have questions to answer......like why hasn't Cedrus Libani run in the Arkle

Take the 33's on "trust"

Market signals suggest there is a good chance SILVERBURN will be switched to this. Looks on a nice mark (142) and 2m5f will surely suit more than 3m.

Based on what McManus says in the telegraph today he does not fancy either of these two.

Apparently a bookie is offering 500-1 for McManus to have the winner of the first race each day.

These would be Captain Cee Bee, Aigle D'Or and Frnachoek who all stand a good chance along with MM and Line Ball

McManus is quoted as saying "the first race on the third day will be the Jewsons and I have Line Ball" after some reflection he apparently admitted "I think they are safe" referring to the bookies.

It will probably be his only winner

To me the best handicapped horse of the week runs in this race and looks like it has been aimed at the race to go with it it is of course
Finger Onthe pulse rated 147 over hurdles although never really proved that rating was at least a 140 horse he takes the course tomorrow off a chase mark of 135 after competing in 2 Grade 2 Novice chases with his last getting beat by Glencove Marina at around the 10/1 mark looks to be a pretty good bet

In early backed MR STRACHAN 2 wks ago at 25/1 but backed out. 8/1 now. Decent chance but I don't like this race - very tough.

I like Nicholls runner Big Bucks. The form is okay and the rider claims 7lb which will help. The run behind Kruguroya was reasonable considering her second in the Arkle, although Ring The Boss let that form down a bit.

Yep I was just gonna say I like Big Bucks in this one, could slip under the radar cos of Nicholls' Dear Villez.   Has good form infront of Kruguyrova, but does have to carry a huge weight.   He does however have a useful 7 lb claimer aboard so I'm not that worried about the weight.   Extra distance should be no problem, bit of rain would be useful for him but it shouldn't be too bad for him come race-time.

Yes he is another interesting one - they think he's a 3 miler so considering his form over 2m with Kruguyrova he could improve massively for the extra 5f and may be on a lenient mark despite the weight. So many possibles in this. I really do hate this race!

The more and more i look at it this Finger Onthe Pulse looks absolutly thrown in even its chase form this year would suggest its on a good mark even without its runs last year, they must think a bit of the horse because it is still entered in the Grade 1 Paddy Power at the Easter Fairyhouse meeting the more open course should suit this horse even though its only run here over hurdles he never made it round

Totally agree - I am defo on this one. Horses that have run in a graded race that then drop back to this handicap have won 2 of the last 3. He is the only one that fits the bill. 11\1 is a great price

Big Stat horse in this race in the shape of Finger Onthe Pulse so have gone for him but i also like the look of Gold Medalist as his 2nd to Tidal Bay over 2M5F here back in december looks pretty good now and the Hobbs yard have come back into form recently, he is also well handicapped on his Hurdle form. Will cover both these bets to break even on Mr Strachen because of his form is tide in with the first 2 winners today if it had been softer and the slighly longer trip i would have given Nudge & Nurdle a chance
