Noble Alan looks a decent horse for Nicky Richards and Craig Bennett, beat a Johnson/Wylie horse in Waterloo Road last week, by Kings Theatre, even better, he is a grey

striking alliance

howard johnson horse won at carlisle last sunday and gave a jonjo o'neil punted horse a stone and a beating looks like a horse who will be better with a faster pace

but to be honest not a race that i would get involved in ante post wise

I can only echo what Tommythetipster has said about Noble Alan. This beast is rated a serious proposition and is being aimed at the Championship bumper at Cheltenham. The sky is the limit with this one.

I saw that race and Noble Alan was very impressive.

Is there a market for the Champion bumper yet?

And to answer my own question Noble Alan is 14/1 with BetFred.

Northern bumpers tend to be treated with disdain by the raters, and on face value Noble Alan is about 2 stone off a typical festival bumper winner.

I will be looking elsewhere at the moment

whilst the irish will inevitably produce half a dozen live contenders, I think the trainer with the best bumper form so far this season is Carl llewellyn and I would love to see him saddle [and probably ride] a festival winner.

Hes had a few win this season already most recently kingston Lane who had a nice win in a competitvie event over 2m 1/2f at a soggy chepstow earlier in the month and could be open to further improvement

Early last year I had a tip for Gold Award (trained by Henderson/owned by The Queen!) for last years bumper and took a bit of the 165 that was available on Betfair at the time.

I rubbed my hands with glee when he tumbled down to 20's without even making an appearance on the track. Didnt bother laying off as I am a greedy so and so. Anyway to cut a long story short just before he was due to run at Sandown, he got injured and didnt run at all last season.

However, in the recent Henderson stable tour in The Post GA got a really positive write-up . Nicky is a bit of a master with his Bumper horses, so even if GA doesnt make it to the Festival, definitely one to keep on the right side of.

I've just read the race report and the trainer compared him to Denman who he also trained before he was sent to Nicholls yard. Sounds like one to be respected.

I'm never too sure whether it's a good or bad thing when the race report says that a bumper winner looks like a chaser in the making !!!

To be fair, he absolutely dwarfed the others so he did look like a chaser! If you get a chance to see the race (you can sign up to ATR and see it free), he seemed to quicken away nicely off the bend. They obviously dawdled from the off, though, as a lot of the field were throwing their heads about.
