Was he leaning in on Sir Rembrant a bit?? When they were at the front together Denmam seemed to be showing SR who was in charge?? And elbowing him out of the way!
"And he's got one or two of them in trouble now!" Was just the time when I started thinking "What is happening here??"
Happy Days! _________________ Don't Feed the Trolls.... A reminder for me - A request to everyone else
I've just watched the race again, it really does make the hairs stand up on the back of the neck, and he honestly does remind me ofSee More. When Sam looked round and I realised he'd just taken lengths out of the field...
And as I said before, a joy to see proper chasers jumping fences. I hope Strong Flow is ok after his fall, he was obviously tiring; but earlier he stood off the water an absolute mile, without ever looking as if he was reaching.
During a post Hennessey ciggie, me and JDF were discussing that we think Denman had his optimum conditions today. Nice 3mile on soft. Come March, will this still be the case. Or does anyone else think that he is as versatile as KS. JDF pointed out that he thought a nice Irish raid on a few top prizes is in order.
Was good to watch though and ST gave it a marvellous ride.
PN just needs another couple now to try and emulate the great MD.

No,he's not as versatile as KS.He's a proper old fashioned staying chaser who jumps superbly with a very high cruising speed.I think he needs 3m+ on ground no better than good. His next target is the Lexus in Ireland then it's straight to Cheltenham I think. _________________ Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
Not often you can call a horse with 11-12 the winner with a mile to go - it was unbelievable how well he jumped and travelled. He didn't just beat them, he pulverised them - it was unreal and the best handicap performance i've ever seen. I lost a good bit of cash on New Alco -who never travelled - but i didn't care at 6 out as i knew i was watching something special. Denaman =....................

Denman did enjoy the conditions but I personally don't think it will make any difference come March if the ground is good. He won and jumped for fun there last March on goodish ground and he is out of Presenting so the better ground shouldn't be a problem anyway. He is just one of those special horses that can win on any ground.
I personally didn't think it was a great Hennessy in terms of the competition (at the moment) and Denman, although awesome, won a bit too easy for a horse carrying 11st 12 running of 161 don’t you think? I could be wrong and definatlely don't want to take anything away from the horse as thought it was a brilliant display of jumping and felt honoured I was there to witness a 'proper' horse in the flesh. I for one will be backing him for Cheltenham weekly so that I have a nice amount on him come the day. My only worry is how do front runners or horses that run very close to the pace fair in The Gold Cup?
Kauto posses more gears but at Cheltenham I would rather my cash on a horse that I wouldn’t have any doubts about staying a fastly run pace and not have a worry about him falling. All in all it will be one hell of a race.
Kauto for the King George, Denman for the Gold Cup.
