What do people make of the Obrien jockey bookings. I expected a better known jocky on Fire and Rain and its interesting that Darley rides Mountain.

dissapointed with the fire and rain booking to be honest I thought darley would have been on board - perhaps f & r hasn't shone in th epast few weeks. I think Mountain could have the best chance out of the o'brien horses now then as he booked darley especially. Not really heard much about C O'Donoghue and he doesnt seem to get that many winners.

As mentioned on the Beeb, I think Sixties Icon is a worthy favourite and has done pretty much nothing wrong this season.

I quietly fancy The Last Drop for a sneaky e-w place.

An interesting race, with I suspect several runners lining up because their trainers are scratching their heads a bit about what to do with them. The O'Brien runners are always intriguing, and the filly could be quite decent. But not a race to bet big on.

Hi Saint.......The only good thing is Obrien doesnt always get it right about which of his horses is the best in each race. I am still expecting Fire and rain ro run a decent race though.

I think the dream is over for Fire and Rain judging by the state of the jockey booking, obviously i hope i'm wrong but agree Mountain looks to have the best chance of his quartet.

Wish i had saved my money for Dylan Thomas now...

Yes gutted i didnt take the 6/1 on betfair for DT as think he will run a big race with the master on board.

Alan I hope you are right but in this case I think swagger could be right unfortunately.

Edit: Hi Tagalie, I think you could be right and everyone is looking for value when in fact the fav has the best form anyway!! Is the only group winner in the race (apart from the filly - who dont have a good record in the race) and has a jock on board that has won the race before - trainers form is a big worry though. The last drop could be worth an e/w bet - i did dream that the outsider beat fire and rain by a short head last night!!

Bobby what do ya reckon about your man dickie winning the leger on the rank outsider - he does ride some decent priced winners for his dad, and they did have a 40/1 winner in this race before

The best piece of form in the race is Red Rocks' 2nd to Rail Link - if he stays he wins in my view but that is a big if.

Intersting that Mountain has run in both the English and Irish Derby, and another big race in France, again behind Rail Link!

i am disappointed with the F and R booking, i really am. i cannot see him winning, but each way i am hopeful. bring on the leger still, looking to add championship point to my F and R and Tusculum bets.

No it was always Horatio Nelson or Visindar I think, though Mick Channon thought if the ground was soft at Epsom CP would have gone close.I backed CP in the Great Voltigeur and I was very dissapointed considering he'd have liked the ground, I'm going to give CP one more chance on saturday as I think he's the e/w bet of the race.
