personally i would love to see Brawn do it again. They gave button a winning car and he has abandoned them. I think ross is a great guy and deserves so much credit for what he has achieved through his career. _________________ There are two certainties in life Death and Taxes they no longer tax betting so there may be a god

I used to like Jenson 'i'm a sell out get me out of here' Button
If Ferrari have got their act together car wise, Alonso will obliterate the opposition. He is by far the best driver in F1 currently _________________ You're born with nothing, and better off that way,

I've never really warmed to Button, so I'd sort of like to see him put in place by Hamilton next season. I have mixed feelings on the loyalty front - he was with the team a long time and took a pay cut for the 09 season.. but part of me also feels that he had no choice because none of the top teams wanted him.
He's certainly heading for a team that doesn't have a car built to his preferences, so that will be interesting.
On the Brawn front, I see they are now being linked with Schumacher returning to the sport - he would have to be released from his Ferrari commitments but as it would likely be short term, it could be agreed... _________________ "The Guineas are too early - I found two dead polar bears on our gallops this week, and a penguin nicked my scarf"

The fact that there isnt much changing over into the next F1 season unlike this one i think it could be between last seasons strongest finishers Red Bull & Mclaren. Think i'll back both Webber and Vettel. _________________ All aboard the Miliband Wagon

You have got to be joking.
It'll take him 6 races just to get up with the pace. Not to mention the physical fitness.
This is a young man's game nowadays.
That aint gonna happen no matter how much the press are speculating.
Brawn is good but there's a lot of other people these days just as good. The only reason Brawn nailed it last season was because he had an extra 6 months to get it right. Once everyone caught up Brawn were only the 3rd or 4th best team. _________________ All aboard the Miliband Wagon

You will not find a bigger Michael Schumacher fan than me but even I have my doubts about whether he can do the business anymore. I would have loved to see him in Massa's seat this season(and he would have done considerably better than either of the numpties who were in it) but to actually sign him up for a whole season, I'm not sure _________________ You're born with nothing, and better off that way,

I don't believe it would be a whole season... the piece I read suggested he would be driving for a few races whilst Mercedes try to get Vettel signed up.
What I don't understand is why he'd *want* to do it. I could understand last season, when he wanted to help Ferrari after Massa's injury, but I don't see the logic now.
That said, I've seen plenty of comments about him cutting a rather lonely figure since retiring, and perhaps he's much like Richard Dunwoody in that he can't find anything outside of racing that fulfills him. _________________ "The Guineas are too early - I found two dead polar bears on our gallops this week, and a penguin nicked my scarf"

Worth considering some of the rule changes for next year; one of the most important is the refuelling ban. This will make engine efficiency pretty important (the less fuel you need to start the quicker you'll go etc).
To this end the article referred to by James Allen here is good reading...
"The Renault won out this year on fuel efficiency, however, which was pretty important this year and will be much more important next year with no refuellling. Compared to the Mercedes, the Renault would go four laps longer on a full tank of fuel, which is worth about 3/10ths of a second per lap next year. The Ferrari was less efficient than the Mercedes, as we saw on several occasions this year."
Couple the efficiency of the Renault engine, the engine development ban and the genius of Adrian Newey to further improve an already excellent car I'd give the Red Bull drivers a huge chance next year. Vettel is the obvious choice at about 7-1 post Shumi's return; however Webber also represents great value at more than 3x the odds.
I kind of get the impression that Webber's not so good at the tyre management bit so might expect him to scrub the tyres with a heavy car but I can't honestly see why Alonso, Hamilton and Schumi are all considerably shorter than Vettel given the performance of this years cars (which don't change too much) and engines (which don't change at all).
The whopping great fly in the ointment is Alonso. If Ferrari use their extra development time well - they gave up developing the 2009 car early - (Honda/Brawn did the same last year an captilised, BMW did not however) then Alonso has a great chance, he is a complete F1 driver in every sense and is a formidable opponent. However, don't assume Ferrari dominance, Honda/Brawn had lots of extra time prior to a huge number of aerodynamic restrictions - there are far fewer to take advantage of next year.
soooooo..... in summary I'm thinking about taking a Webber/Vettel combo bet but am inclined to wait until testing just in case Ferrari are close on pace.
