Where have you been!? Haha. Knocked out within a minute, should have been stopped after his first knockdown but was allowed to continue. Got knocked back down 6 seconds later and couldnt get back up.
He has NO chin. |

Well it had to happen someday, he had been fighting no name boxers and couldn't keep his guard up against them. Sky must be cursing their luck the first box office he does and he turns into another Audley Harrison |

I shudder to think what the state of British boxing will be like when Hatton retires |

I'm sorry to hear this - I admired Amir Khan immensely for his Olympics performance, and I think he has been an inspiration to his community and much wider as well. Obviously he will not win every fight he has as a pro, but I thought he turned pro too soon (lure of the money, I guess) and this has affected his performance. There is a huge gulf fixed between the best amateurs and the best pros, and the best amateurs know perfectly well that they will have a tougher row to hoe in the pro ranks.
It doesn't look to me as if Khan has faced up to this. |

I always thought that in his weight division the best fighters were all amateurs anyway, but I might be wrong |

Khan was massively outclassed in his Olympic final by the Cuban (forget the rematch which didn't matter and the cuban wa at half pace)
Since then he has been carefully managed into position but let's be honest, ths was his first step up to teh top level and he got an absolute hiding
all flash, no bash as a mate said to me earlier
However I don't agree about the state of British boxing going forward; there are plenty of decent youngsters going through. also what many of our Olympians are doing is (partly because of the ABA funding which is now available, but which Khan rejected in favour of professionalism; partly because of lure of boxing in a GB Olympics) staying within the "Amateur" ranks for anouther 4 years
Khan wasn't ready to turn pro when he did; he should have been boxing in Beijing then turnong pro now _________________ Geordie_R

I disagree with this. He seemed ready to turn pro to me and made the right decision in doing so. He should have really boxed Prescott off the back foot but it seemed like he went in with his usual first round ragged attitude and paid the price. Lets be honest here, Prescott isnt even the top level at the moment but he had a bang and it seems Khan just cant handle it. |

Knowing Frank Warren, the likely answer is yes. One, maybe two confidence boosters before he starts to step up again. |
