I don't watch any cr@p like this but It seems that they thought JS (himself included) that he would have been voted off by now as he is contracted to be in Panama in 10 days from now anyway which i guess would have been before the end of the show

I guess John was in a really difficult position and I got the impression that things were quite strained behind the scenes- the way he mentioned how seriously others were taking it must have made the fun aspect of what he was doing unwelcome. It would have been nicer if some of the others could have said something like, "I don't mind losing to John- how can we compete with that!" and been a bit more humourous and gracious about what is, after all, a light-hearted Saturday night family show.
Anton de Beke was the most refreshing of the pros last night- he said after the first series, when someone quite poor made the final and a better dancer got voted off, he realised exactly what the show was about, and that he didn't care. The judges and most of the pros, especially the bitter bloke that was with Cherie, come out of this the worst; po-faced, self-important and taking themselves way too seriously.
Last Christmas there was a really interesting programme about dancing, charting the history of televised dance shows and their popularity across the globe, and looking at their place in culture (court dances, wartime dances etc). Bruce also went off to S America (actually quite an engaging presenter when not spouting terrible gags) where dancing is an incredibly important part of society in places where people don't have a lot of spare cash to spend on leisure activities. If it's repeated it's worth watching for those who don't understand what all the fuss is about. _________________ Be good. Don't trust boys. |

I can't get into this tonight, I want to go to bed, it's not 7 o'clock yet
We've got the X Factor to come yet, I think I'll be giving the jungle a miss tonight.
