De La Hoya - PacquaioPacquaio is the better lb for lb fighter but has a hugely difficult task stepping up so much in weight against De La Hoya. Consequently the bookies make DLH 1/2 fave and Manny a 15/8 shot. A real David and Goliath battle in store - should be a seriously exciting fight. Don't miss it is my advice.
I will personally be cheering on the little guy. Go Manny!
Anyone else getting this on PPV?

I know Pacquiao is stepping up but this guy is a machine, and De La Hoya is a great fighter but he's not at his peak and Pacquaio is. I think its gonna be close but I think at the odds surely its worth a bet on pacquaio?

Sounds as though it turned into a one sided fight in the end with the younger fighter dominating, I'd imagine De La Hoya will retire after that. Pacquaio vs Hatton next would be great.

Wow!
Absolute domination. De la Hoya is going to have nightmare's about that left hand for the rest of his days.
It was amazingly one sided. De La Hoya had no response.
I was loving the fight because I'm a big Pacquaio fan but by the 7th I was finding it hard to watch - an old champion getting so hammered. Pacquaio must have landed 30 punches without any kind of a response in the 7th and it should have been stopped there. I hate seeing someone get so badly beaten up like that; there was no need for round 8 and it's fights like this that can cause serious damage to a boxer - his corner should have thrown in the towel earlier if the ref wasn't stopping it
Here are the last 2 rounds (7 and 8 ) for those that haven't seen it. It's amazing hearing that conversation after round 8 in the De La Hoya corner about whether to stop or carry on ("Do you have a headache?" "He doesn't feel anything" "We have to stop it, he's too fast" "One more round?" "We're gonna stop it"). Poor guy couldn't even muster the energy to answer

I'm delighted for Manny but left with slightly mixed emotions as it made me a bit upset to see De La Hoya in such a mess
