Where have you been!? Haha. Knocked out within a minute, should have been stopped after his first knockdown but was allowed to continue. Got knocked back down 6 seconds later and couldnt get back up.
He has NO chin.

Well it had to happen someday, he had been fighting no name boxers and couldn't keep his guard up against them. Sky must be cursing their luck the first box office he does and he turns into another Audley Harrison

Exactly, the irony of you saying that was Audley had another boring fight on the undercard!!

I shudder to think what the state of British boxing will be like when Hatton retires

I'm sorry to hear this - I admired Amir Khan immensely for his Olympics performance, and I think he has been an inspiration to his community and much wider as well. Obviously he will not win every fight he has as a pro, but I thought he turned pro too soon (lure of the money, I guess) and this has affected his performance. There is a huge gulf fixed between the best amateurs and the best pros, and the best amateurs know perfectly well that they will have a tougher row to hoe in the pro ranks.
It doesn't look to me as if Khan has faced up to this.

I always thought that in his weight division the best fighters were all amateurs anyway, but I might be wrong

Khan was massively outclassed in his Olympic final by the Cuban (forget the rematch which didn't matter and the cuban wa at half pace)
Since then he has been carefully managed into position but let's be honest, ths was his first step up to teh top level and he got an absolute hiding
all flash, no bash as a mate said to me earlier
However I don't agree about the state of British boxing going forward; there are plenty of decent youngsters going through. also what many of our Olympians are doing is (partly because of the ABA funding which is now available, but which Khan rejected in favour of professionalism; partly because of lure of boxing in a GB Olympics) staying within the "Amateur" ranks for anouther 4 years
Khan wasn't ready to turn pro when he did; he should have been boxing in Beijing then turnong pro now

I disagree with this. He seemed ready to turn pro to me and made the right decision in doing so. He should have really boxed Prescott off the back foot but it seemed like he went in with his usual first round ragged attitude and paid the price. Lets be honest here, Prescott isnt even the top level at the moment but he had a bang and it seems Khan just cant handle it.

Knowing Frank Warren, the likely answer is yes. One, maybe two confidence boosters before he starts to step up again.

No chin, and chins can't be built, he'll never make it as he's just not Sugar Ray-Leonard and he will get hit.

Not only no chin, but no defence. I think that was the fourth fight where he has been put down. Maybe he is so arrogant he thinks no one can beat him.

With training he could easily improve his defence, and everything else about his boxing skill, but he'll never improve his chin as he clearly can't take a punch, let alone a beating. It's funny how a day after he's on his back Murrays going for The US Open. Hamilton, Khan, Murray, we put too much pressure on our rising stars in this country, ludicrous putting him in with such a big hitter even if it was his choice, shame though.

If Khan wants to be world champ, he must be able to take on all comers. I dont think it matters how strong your chin is, a perfect connection on the jaw will spark someone out.

I don't agree with that, Khan was long over due a step up in class. Just because he didn't prove up to the job he had fought enough average Joe fighters and won enough Mickey Mouse belts to take his chance.
These sportsmen need the pressure to keep them at the top of their game. There's no hiding place for them but it helps them develop, yes some will fall by the way side but others will thrive off it.

That's true, you look at the heavy weights, one punch and the match is over. Much the same can be said for Khans weight division, you get hit on the sweet spot you'll just blindly walk into more and more punches and have no chance.

That may be the case, but if Khan gets slapped with a wet fish knowhere near his chin or temple, he's going down, no world champ worth his skin will ever have a chin as visibly weak as his.
Theres pressure and theres British Media pressure, which i've always thought too excessive on sportspersons, especially young, talented ones.

I agree with you GG.
Once the weakness has been exposed, that is it.
I remember Paul Hodgkinson who was succeptable to cuts around his eyes. So every one he fought, just went for his eyes. Was a really good boxer but his face couldnt take it.
Likewise with Khan, everyone now, will just try and lamp his chin in the full knowledge he will go down.

Agreed, now everyone knows he can be caught and knocked out easily they'll be going banging from the first bell.
