I fancy Saints to win it as well. Will probably do a trixie on Southampton, Blackpool and Brizzle Rovers for an interest in all the games.

Will also be backing the away team in singles for every playoff game. This has proved most profitable in the past. Having been through them myself with Cardiff City, the pressure on the home sides is huge and away sides often capitalise.

Can't see us going up really as we aren't clinical enough in front of goal and Claus is a huge loss.

Oakley will score against us though and wouldn't be surprised if its the winner :x

I never liked the idea of a club finishing 10 or 12 points behind someone being given a second chance. Of the four though i fancy Wolves to creep through.

And Exeter v Oxford second leg tonight, to see who plays Morecambe in the finale at Wembley

Play offs are a lottery, even more so when you have a local derby like Albion v Wolves

Just like to say that I think that the play-offs are one of the best things ever introduced. For one thing the season now lasts up to the final day for more teams than ever before, in the past I can remember meaningless mid-table games being played from the start of April! Obviously the Football League are happy to keep this system going, as they are getting a nice little earner out of it as well!
But as for teams that finish about 12 points or whatever above the last-placed team and start to moan a bit, well all I can say is "Tough S**t!" ALL the teams know the rules before they kick-off the season, and therefore know that only TWO teams are guaranteed automatic promotion (3 in League 2). I have no doubt that if the positions were reversed, they would be quite happy!
IMO if you finish 3rd you should be confident about finishing off the job and having a good day out at Wembley as well, (although history would suggest otherwise). But whatever happens this time, there are numerous examples of teams finishing 3rd and failing to go up, but coming back stronger a season or two later and getting promoted - so good luck to all of them.

As for a "lottery", I have to be a bit sympathetic to a team that gets knocked out in a penalty shoot-out, but again, it is in the rules. . . .

Cheers

Yeah, I agree with that, everyone starts off on a level playing field at the start of the season and know the score when it comes down to play offs.

That has happened to us before, we went on a run of 9 winning games at the end of the season, came 2nd by 3 points and then got knocked out on pens to a side who got in the play offs on the last day of the season.

Easy the mighty Rams to beat the Baggies at Wembley I hope!

Just hope we dont suffer from those 8 point clear third placed blues

I've got a pre-season treble on Swindon, West Brom & Forest to all get promoted so I have a large financial interest in the play offs this year.

I am a fan of the Play Offs for the reasons already stated but from a betting point of view they are not to be touched with a bargepole IMHO

I really hope Blackpool go up. It'll be an easy 6 points for Burnley and a good weekend away.
